Clinical Laboratory Partners Signs Marketing Agreement with Ikonisys For Proprietary Cervical Cancer Test

Clinical Laboratory Partners, LLC announced today its exclusive marketing partnership with privately-owned Ikonisys, Inc., of New Haven, CT, relating to Ikonisys' proprietary oncoFISH® cervical test, a laboratory developed test for the management of cervical dysplasia.
Under the agreement, Clinical Laboratory Partners will market the assay to physicians requesting reflext analysis of specimens from liquid based Pap tests classified as low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL). The molecular diagnostic test will assist in determining if there is a risk of progression to cervical cancer or if the lesion will naturally regress. Ikonisys will conduct the evaluation of the specimen using its proprietary Ikoniscope® Digital Microscopy System in its CAP-accredited clinical laboratory.
oncoFISH cervical is a companion test designed to work in conjunction with currently used cervical cancer screening tests like the Pap smear and HPV tests prior to colposcopy. oncoFISH cervical is intended as an additional aid for medical professionals to better manage cervical dysplasia. The assay is based on the identification of a genetic marker which numerous scientific articles have linked with an increased likelihood for the development of cervical cancer. Running the assay will not require obtaining an additional specimen from patients.
